FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Attention Mac users!
Lyricist and TrackNotes have been tested with Virtual PC and the results are a big
thumbs up.
Virtual PC is an operating system emulator made by Connectix that allows Mac users to run PC software
on their computer. (Click here for product
details.)
When you run Virtual PC in full screen mode your Mac appears for all intents and purposes to be running
Windows; actually Virtual PC is running just like any other application, meaning you can switch
back and forth between the two platforms as you can with any open applications.
Once Virtual PC is booted up you can install the VSS products or any other PC-only applications and use
them as normal. There's nothing to deal with in terms of special definitions or instructions.
You ARE
running Windows at that point. Both Lyricist and TrackNotes have been shown to run just fine in this
environment. This should come as great news to all the Mac users who have been begging us for a Mac version
of the software. (We still plan to develop full-blown Mac versions of our software in the future.)
Our tests were run on an Apple PowerBook G3/400 (Bronze - Lombard) with 256 MB RAM. The VSS software was
tested with Virtual PC versions 3.0 and 4.0.1 (the most current) using Windows 98 mode, and both
Lyricist and TrackNotes ran flawlessly in
either environment.
