Tom Boyles
(email Tom)
Location: Pleasanton, California, USA Genre of Music: Any style I can record in my studio... within reason. Tom's recording gear: I use PARIS recording hardware and software. PARIS is great because it is set up with Intelligent Submixing which allows any standard PC available today to playback up to 256 tracks. A Control-16 Control Surface gives PARIS the power of an analog recording console and has analog-digital converters that give it warmth and power in it's sound. Also, eliminate "mouse-mixing". Tom talks about VSS software: Whenever I have a recording session in my studio, I log EVERYTHING in TrackNotes. Clients wonder what I'm doing... and then when I send them out the door at the end of each session with a handful of well-documented reports, they can see exactly what they did during that session. They look at the TrackNotes reports and only say one thing, every time... "Wow. This is great!" TrackNotes makes me look more professional! Tom speaks: I learned a ton about recording several years ago from a guy named "Wade Baynham" of a group called "The Basics". He's a fantastic engineer, producer and musician. You've got to check his stuff out: www.thesecondstory.com. I'm a bass player mainly, working on my own stuff and also tracking bass and guitar tracks for clients that come to my studio: www.sounddecisionstudio.com. I use PARIS recording hardware and software and have a cool Web site all about PARIS at: www.theparisdirectory.com. By the way, get "TrackNotes" and "Lyricist" from VSS if you haven't already... they both have become a huge part in my recording and writing music. |
